July is Disability Pride Month, and this year marks the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
In honor of this milestone, we are hosting our annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, July 29, to advance the rights of Virginians with disabilities.
As we reflect on decades of progress, we recognize that there is still work to be done. Your support helps the disAbility Law Center of Virginia (dLCV) fight for access, equity, and dignity across the Commonwealth.

Since becoming an independent organization in 2013, the disAbility Law Center of Virginia (dLCV) has made a meaningful impact in the lives of Virginians with disabilities. But the work is far from over. There’s still so much more to do—and we can’t do it without you.

Virginia is home to over 1.9 million people with disabilities. At dLCV, our team of just 30 dedicated professionals works tirelessly to provide legal support, fight for justice, and protect the rights of this community. But we can’t reach everyone who needs us, not yet.
We rely on grants, foundations, and individual donors like you to power the critical legal work that Virginians deserve. With your help, we can serve more individuals, fight systemic injustices, and advocate for lasting policy change at the Virginia General Assembly.

Better Services for Students
With your support, we can continue to advocate for systemic changes to Virginia's Special Education resources and services!
Freedom to Live in the Community
Your gift helps ensure people with disabilities have the right to live where and how they choose. We help individuals transition from institutions to the community and advocate for alternatives to guardianship, like supported decision-making.
Ensuring Accessible Elections
Your support allows us to actively monitor polling sites during elections to ensure compliance with accessibility standards and to guarantee every Virginian has the right to vote with dignity.
The need for advocacy supports for Virginians with disabilities is growing all the time, while available Federal funds remain level. Your donation supports the important services we provide to our community and positions us to better match this growing demand. Donations also allow us to respond when rights are at risk, educate communities, and fight for a more accessible Virginia.
This work doesn’t stop—and neither does your impact.
Together, we stand as a powerful voice for people with disabilities, their families, and allies—leading the charge for stronger legal protections, better public systems, and a more inclusive Commonwealth.
